Prayer to the Holy Spirit
Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful.
And kindle in them the fire of your love.
Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created.
And you will renew the face of the earth.
by the light of the Holy Spirit
you have taught the hearts of your faithful.
In the same Spirit
help us to relish what is right
and always rejoice in your consolation.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Matthew 22: 37 - 39

What do you think it means to love God with your whole heart, mind and soul?
When young people receive Confirmation, they most often do not fully understand the significance of the Sacrament. While these lessons seek to prepare you in an academic sense, you also need to prepare your mind and heart to be completely open to the transforming power of the Holy Spirit coming into your life.
Daily prayer, especially to the Holy Spirit, and
receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation (Penance or Confession)
are the two most important things you can do to make sure your heart is open and ready to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.
It may sound difficult, but remember when you are confirmed, you are given all the tools and gifts necessary to live the Christian life. If you are willing to open your heart to receive all that God wants for you in this Sacrament, your life will be filled with the joy of the Lord.
Confirmation is getting close. Whether you are aware of it or not, the Holy Spirit is going to change you through Confirmation. But the more you prepare yourself and cooperate with God throughout this experience, the more powerful it will be. Allow the Holy Spirit to unleash his power in your life and you will be amazed by what happens.
Why the Sacrament of Reconciliation / Confession?
Lent - The Perfect Time to Prepare
Lent is the season of the Church when we turn our lives back to God. Our lives are busy with many activities and we fill our homes with stuff (necessary & unnecessary), our minds with distractions, our days with routines and habits (good & bad), and ignore the state of our hearts and souls.
During Lent, we are asked to take a look at all the areas in our lives that are distracting us from God, are leading us away from him and keeping us from being spiritually healthy.
By practicing prayer, fasting and almsgiving, we practice good habits that help us focus more on God and others, becoming more like Jesus.
What will you do this Lent to make your heart ready to truly celebrate this Easter and your Confirmation?
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

We have created a discussion forum for the Parish of St. Timothy Confirmation Group. Every week there will be a new topic of discussion related to that week's lesson. The forum is open only to those participating in the 2020 / 2021 Confirmation preparation program.
Here's where I'll be verifying your participation.
This forum is a place for serious, courteous discussion about spiritual-related topics. I don't want to see rude or unnecessarily silly comments or questions. Any unacceptable posts will be deleted, the student will lose access to the forum and we will communicate with your parents.
